Dear Member:

The 2011 golf year is over and it was a difficult year at
“best”. Over-all, I believe our golf course was in “good”
condition most of the year. We had many equipment
and irrigation problems and the weather was a major
problem most of the year.
Our food service department was not a success and I
realize that many members were upset with our hours,
menu and staffing problems.

I understand we have problems and we will correct the
problems that we can in 2012. There are many rumors
flying around and as usual, none are true. Here are the
facts you need to know about Wee-Ma-Tuk Country
Club in 2012:

1. Weather permitting, the golf course will open on
March 1, 2012.
2. Our present plans are to open our new holes May 1,
2012 with the range to follow as quick as possible.

3. Our kitchen and food service department will open
approximately March 15, 2012 with the following
changes:

(A) We will be open for dinner Thursday, Friday,
Saturday and Sunday. Hours on Thursday and Friday
will be 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 9:00
p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m..

(B) There will be specials on Thursday, Friday and
Saturday along wit our regular menu. Sunday we will
have lunch specials also.

(C) Our kitchen staff will consist of one cook and yes,
waitresses to take care of your dining needs.

4. The bar will be open during kitchen hours and more
as needed.

5. Lunch during the week, (Monday thru Friday) will
include Pizza, Hot Dogs and Sub sandwiches.
Our swimming pool is another problem. Our members
are “not” using the pool as much as needed. It is a
staffing and financial loser. I am open for any ideas in
regards to the pool but at this time, I’m not sure we will
have it open in 2012.

The last item I want to discuss with you and probably
the most important item is our membership. We are
down in members and need to increase our
membership in 2012. We need “your” help. At the
present time, if a member brings us a “NEW” member,
they receive a free month of dues. I want to increase
that incentive plan to the following: from January 1,
2012 to May 1, 2012, if you bring us one new member,
you will receive two months of dues free and a $50 gift
certificate from the Pro Shop or Dining room. If you
bring us two “NEW” members, you will receive three
months of dues free and a $50 give certificate. If you
bring us five “NEW” members, you will receive a one
year free membership and a $100 gift certificate. These
membership incentives will be discontinued after May 1,
2012. We also plan on having a membership Drive in
January and February. Those details will be finalized in
January and be added to our website.

Otherwise, I have three choices which are available to
me:
1. Raise dues – our present plans are not to raise dues
in 2012.
2. Go public or Semi-public.
3. Close doors – Farm land is very valuable in down
state Illinois.
Tim and I are open to any ideas or comments in regards
to this letter. As I said before, we need your help and
suggestions.
Here’s wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and a
“Happy Holiday” season.

Blodgett Ties WMT Course Record

On July 5, 2009, Casey Blodgett carded a 63, tying the course record set in 1970 by former club pro Tim Sweborg. In the foursome were Josh Knowles, Austin
Matheny, and Julian Taylor.

The feat was all the more remarkable, considering that Casey bogeyed number seventeen after he pulled his drive into the trees. The round consisted of the one
bogey, seven pars, eight birdies, and an eagle.

Casey, who grew up in Wee-Ma-Tuk, has played golf since the age of ten. He is a graduate of Cuba High School, Spoon River College, and Western Illinois University.
Casey was Fulton County champion in 2008. He is employed by the Mason County Sheriff's Department.
WMTCC has reciprocation agreements with these clubs. Call
789-6208 for reservations.

Lexi Is Great at State!

WMTCC's Lexi Petersen, a freshman on North Fulton's Co-op
golf team,  fought strong winds and tough competition at the
Illinois High School Association Class A Girls' Golf
Tournament held in Decatur October 14 and 15.

Lexi fired an 85 on Friday and 80 on Saturday to finish in a tie
for sixteenth. She was one of only two freshman to finish in
the top twenty. Full tournament details are linked below.
